The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) assists Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) in obtaining nurse registration in Canada. NNAS assesses your educational qualifications and submits a report to the nursing regulatory agencies.

The major goal of NNAS is to assess your academic credentials earned outside of Canada and compare them to Canada’s current nursing criteria. Internationally educated nurses can register as nurses in Canada by submitting their documentation to NNAS.

Nurses who seek to register as nurses in Canada must submit a NNAS report. For nurses who finished their schooling outside of Canada, the NNAS is necessary. To work as a nurse in Canada, you must have a NNAS report.

Your education is evaluated in the NNAS report using Canadian educational criteria. It provides background information about the schools and institutions you attended, as well as the times you attended them. Who must apply to NNAS?

2. Have completed a nursing programme in a college or university outside of Canada.
3. Never before registered to work as a nurse in Canada.

There are two exceptional cases. You are not required to open an account with NNAS if:

1. You’ve previously worked as a nurse in Canada.
2. You finished your nursing studies in a Canadian institution.

How to get NNAS from Karnataka Nursing Council?

There is a procedure to get NNAS from Karnataka Nursing Council

1. Create an online account with NNAS.
2. Submit the online application.
3. Pay the applicable charge.
4. Follow the instructions for submitting papers for verification.
5. Once you have completed your file, NNAS will review it and provide you with access to an Advisory Report that includes your evaluation. The report will be forwarded to the relevant regulatory agency.
6. Submit an application to the regulatory authority of your choosing and pay the application cost using your NNAS online account.

If you are qualified to register, the regulatory agency, not NNAS, will approve. The regulatory agency will also determine if you need extra examinations or must complete more courses. The regulatory authority is the last arbiter of your registration or license. If you must pay additional costs, contact the regulating agency to find out how much they are.

What are the Documents Required for NNAS From Karnataka Nursing Council?

You must provide NNAS with two forms of identification. They must be notarized and contain your signature as well as copies of original documents. Your original documents must be copied and notarized as certified true copies while you are present with the notary. Original ID documents are not accepted by NNAS. A notary public or a lawyer must prepare notarized copies in Canada. Notarized copies must be created by a government-approved authority outside of Canada.

They must attach their official signature and seal to each inspected document, provide their address and phone number and declare in a written statement that they have seen the original papers, created the copies, can attest that they are true copies, and affirm that they are not in any way affiliated to the applicant. All cost associated with creating your notarized papers is your responsibility. We will not accept copies of expired identity documents. Your photo must be on at least one piece of identification, and it must be current and not expired.

Forms of photo identification:

1. Passport
2. Driver’s license
3. Other government-issued identification

The following are also acceptable::

1. Birth certificate
2. Legal name change affidavit
3. Marriage certificate
4. Divorce decree 

If any of these original documents are not published in English or French, they must be translated into English or French by a professional translator. The translator must send the translated materials directly to NNAS. Any fees incurred throughout the translation process are your responsibility.

Translations can be done in three ways:

1. By an approved source agency ( licensing authority)
2. By a certified translator
3. By NNAS 

NNAS must receive all certified translations immediately from the translator. NNAS will double-check that all of the names on your identity documents are correct. If they don’t, you’ll have to give further documentation to explain why.

NNAS from Karnataka Nursing Council, How to get it?

NNAS is committed to assisting nurses in achieving their goals in their various fields. Their primary goal is to provide a credential review for immigrants planning to study or work in the United States or Canada. In order to carry out the necessary processes, NNAS need your verified documentation from Karnataka Nursing Council, the institution where the certificate was granted. It is possible that the verification procedure will take up to three weeks.  Register with NNAS, submit an application and acquire a reference number from NNAS before sending documents. All mailings and communications should have this NNAS reference number. To ensure timely processing, provide your reference number on any papers forwarded to NNAS for examination.
